Launch Party

Launch night: 21st April 2015 in Whelan’s.

A great night of music, entertainment and support from some of the finest talent on the Irish music scene at the moment. We had great live music from MundyPine Marten, Jem Mitchell, Chris Maxey, Pete Pamf, Alice Jago and some wickedly good funk indie rock from The Dead Heavys.

Thank you to all who attended and to those who couldn’t make it but sent on their signed music and best wishes.

Here are just some of our pics from the night and a wonderful sound and motion capture of the launch party can be found here.

MONSTER IRISH MUSIC AUCTION

PRESS LAUNCH
WHELAN’S, WEXFORD STREET
APRIL 21ST, 8pm.

A new initiative to help raise funds for homeless people is calling on Irish musicians and bands to donate signed copies of their albums for auction.

This unique, autographed Irish music collection will be sold in one giant lot to the highest bidder.

The aim is to raise at least €25,000 which will then be divided up across urban centres in the four provinces of Ireland.

The campaign is the brainchild of Peter Meade. Having experienced homelessness himself, Peter has been running fund-raising gigs from Abner Browns Barbershop in Rathmines, Dublin, where he now works as a barber.

Two fund-raising gigs held earlier this year in The Mercantile and Sweeney’s also raised money for the Dublin charity, Inner City Helping Homeless.

Now Peter is calling on EVERY act in the country – new and established acts alike – to sign an album/single/merchandise of theirs and donate it to the monster auction. The money raised will then go to selected nationwide charities working to get people out of the trap of homelessness.

There will be at press launch for the event at Whelan’s of Wexford Street on April 21st.

The monster auction will be available online for worldwide bidding and the closing bid announcement made in Whelan’s, 18th June 2015.

Here is an opportunity for someone to help a great cause by securing the biggest and most unique collection of Irish music ever assembled. The auction will also be a celebration of Irish music featuring performances by cool and contemporary Irish artists.
